Make Your Own Trophies! Part Four

Not all trophies should be ridiculously hard. In fact, there are some trophies that should be just super easy to get. Imagine coming home and you just want a win. You had a hard day at work, people screamed at you, and you may have even missed the bus once or twice. It’s not wrong for some games to test you as much as they can make you feel like a winner. Let’s check out some trophies that are just ridiculously easy and made up.

Bronze: You’re On the Way – Call of Duty: Black Ops
How do you get it?: Kill five enemy soldiers

I’m pretty sure you’ll kill five enemy soldiers within the first twenty minutes of the game. Nevertheless, Call of Duty: Black Ops is a fun game, and killing those five enemies are a gateway to a whole world of hurt. Snip one enemy, move on to the next one. Rinse and repeat four more times and then boom, you’re officially a winner.

I think Call of Duty is a good franchise for trophies such as these. It’s easy to play, whether you are a series vet who picks up every installment or someone like me who needs the instructions to pop up on the screen, since I never play it. There are also lots of enemies, and on-rail segments, meaning you can mow down droves of enemy combatants on your way to fighting for the sacredness of democracy.

Silver: The Wielder of the Keyblade – Kingdom Hearts
How do you get it?: Kill 100 Shadow Heartless

Kingdom Hearts features some of the coolest enemy designs of the series. Starting off with the small Shadows, who resemble a small puppy, the designs then become more intricate as the game progresses, with each subsequent world and enemy taking on a different shape and form relative to their environment.

You’ll frequently come across Shadows while playing Kingdom Hearts. In fact, they are the first enemies you fight. Oftentimes I feel that the game is flooding the screen with these useless enemies. They’re annoying, as in the beginning they can’t take a whole lot of hits, so you can’t test out your interesting and colorful combos on them. Here’s a trophy for eliminating these annoying grunts, because you patience should be rewarded.

Gold: Do a Barrel Roll – Jak & Daxter
How do you get it?: Roll 1000 times

Jak & Daxter may be one of the more underrated mascot platformers of the PS2 era. The controls were great, as punching, jumping, and platforming in general felt great and different. Jak was basically a springboard, always bouncing around. Even his punches threw himself forward in an exciting lunge.

Rolling was a different matter altogether. Early in the game, you’ll start to roll a lot to simply get from point A to point B faster. You’ll probably roll at least twenty, thirty, maybe even fifty times. Sure, this trophy is mindless, but if you really put your mind to it, you can turn this long term investment into a satisfying, easy-to-grab gold trophy.
