Nintendo Direct Recap

Fresh off a brand new Nintendo Direct, Nintendo provided details on upcoming games, newly announced games, and additions to games currently available.

Starting off with a bang, The Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess HD is coming to Wii U on March 4, 2016. It was rumored for a while, but it’s real and it’s coming with a Wolf Link amiibo. The HD remake will enhance the game’s visuals and give players another chance to play Twilight Princess for the first time. Current amiibo including Toon Link, Zelda, Ganondorf, Link, and Sheik will be compatible with Twilight Princess HD in some form.

Tri Force Heroes will be receiving a free update in the form of a new playable area, the Den of Trials, a 30 floor dungeon that features checkpoints and requires you to slay all the enemies before advancing floors. There will also be two new costumes: the Linebeck costume that will allow you to see inside chests before opening them, and the Fierce Deity Mask Costume that shoots beams in four directions. The update will arrive in December.

Fire Emblem Fates will release on February 19, 2016 with three versions: Birthright, Conquest and Revelations. There will be a special edition that contains all three games for $80.

Cloud Strife from Final Fantasy 7 has been announced for Super Smash Bros. and he received a trailer, joining the fight. There will also be a Super Smash Bros. broadcast next month

Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon will release on November 20 and it features all 720 Pokemon. It will also come with a free theme for a limited time.

Splatoon will be receiving an update with new gear, courses and a museum, and it will be available at 5:00 Pacific Time.

Mario Maker will be getting a new website to help course searching.

Pokken Tournament is coming to Wii U with a Shadow Mewtwo amiibo card, only available in the first production run.

StarFox Zero will release on April 22, 2016 and it includes a number of ships, like the Walker, Landmaster, Gravmaster and the Gyromaster.

Xenoblade Chronicles X will be receiving four packs to reduce the loading times for the physical version of the game.

A new Wii U bundle is coming out with Super Smash Bros. and Splatoon.

Final Fantasy Explorers is getting a collector’s edition that includes a soundtrack, an art book and a hard case for the 3DS. There will also be four unlockable in-game quests coming to the game.

The Mega Man Legacy Collection is coming to 3DS on February 23, 2016 with a gold Mega Man amiibo.

Pokemon Red, Blue and Yellow are coming to the 3DS eShop as of February 27, 2016.

Hyrule Warriors Legends will have Linkle, a female version of Link who wields dual crossbows and has a spin kick attack. The game is out on March 25, 2016.

Dragon Quest 7 and 8 are coming to the 3DS in Spring 2016 and Summer 2016, respectively.
